What is an acceptable level of packet loss?

Just like VoIP and video conferencing, PCoIP is a real time protocol. Once a packet is lost in transit, there typically isn't time to re transmit before the PCoIP session is impacted. Therefore, the most acceptable level of loss is 0%. Packet loss maybe higher than this without the user noticing but it depends on what data was dropped. The greater the percentage of packet loss above 0%, the greater the impact to the PCoIP session.

Packet loss should be zero for a properly configured LAN or WAN deployment. Packet loss within a single PCoIP protocol session should target less than 0.1%.

Note: Network link packet loss can be higher than any individual PCoIP session loss. Using network loss counters outside the PCoIP Software is not a reliable source of data.
