Random individual client disconnect, or mass client disconnects when connecting clients (PCoIP Software Clients, VMware View Clients, or PCoIP Zero Clients) connected to HP Anyware or VMware View virtual desktops.

There have been observed disconnect issues with networks using Cisco Virtual Switching System (VSS) inter-switch connections.

If you see random individual or mass client disconnects test to see if the disconnects are related to the use of Cisco VSS links.  Test by bypassing the Cisco VSS links or bypass the network devices that use Cisco VSS.  If the problem, goes away then you can work around the session disconnects by bypassing or disabling the Cisco VSS.

If the problem still exists the consider other possible disconnect causes including:

  • Migration events (storage migration or virtual desktop/virtual server migration)
  • Portfast not enabled on network devices that connect to clients
  • The use of an un-supported USB device
  • QoS is not implemented correctly
