When the PCoIP Remote Workstation Card Software does not detect a PCoIP Remote Workstation Card, it generates the following error and installation stops.

No PCoIP devices detected. Please ensure the hardware is installed and the Host Driver Function is enabled on the PCoIP Host card prior to installing the software.

Though the software failed to install,  a connection from a PCoIP Zero Client can be established displaying video, however, mouse and keyboard operation will fail due to the missing Remote Workstation Card Software.

This issue will occur when the Remote Workstation Cards Host Driver Function is not enabled, or the host PC BIOS does not recognize the connected PCoIP Remote Workstation Card.

Solutions:

  • Ensure the Remote Workstation Cards Host Driver Function is enabled.
  • Ensure the host PC BIOS settings are not preventing the Card from enumerating or being detected such as:
    • PCI slots enabled: Ensure the PCIe slot that your PCoIP Remote Workstation Card is connected to is enabled. Some multi-CPU motherboards allot PCI control to specific CPUs. If a second CPU is not installed or is not working the PCoIP Remote Workstation Card may not be detected. See KB 1180.
    • PCIe training reset: PCIe training reset needs to be enabled
    • Enumeration timing: increasing the BIOS delay can allow the extra time it takes the PCoIP Remote Workstation Card to enumerate
