Scenario

There is an issue with firmware 4.0.2 where the use of the PCoIP Management Console 1.8.0 could result in rendering the Tera2 zero client non-functional and non-recoverable. This issue may be encountered intermittently when deploying profiles from the Management Console to Tera2 zero clients.

If you encounter a non-recoverable Tera2 zero client, please contact your client reseller or OEM.

Notes:

  • This issue does not impact Tera1 zero clients
  • This issue does not impact Tera2 zero clients when they are exclusively managed by the Administrative Web Interface (AWI) or the On-Screen-Display (OSD)

Workaround

To workaround this issue, do not use the PCoIP Management Console 1.8.0 to manage Tera2 zero clients loaded with firmware 4.0.2.  Rather use the PCoIP Management Console 1.8.1 or newer, the AWI or the OSD to manage Tera2 zero clients instead.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

  • All Tera2 clients must be upgraded to firmware 4.0.3 or newer. This firmware update can be done via the zero client AWI for individual units, or for multiple zero clients using the Management Console 1.8.1 or newer.  Do not use Management Console 1.8.0 to apply firmware 4.0.3 to Tera2 devices
  • If using the Management Console, Tera2 zero clients must be managed by the Management Console 1.8.1 or newer.

HP Anyware will issue a patches for the firmware and PCoIP Management Console to resolve this issue:

Pertains to:
  • mc.1.x
  • PCoIP Zero Client 4.0.2
