Problem

When remotely access my a workstation using the PCoIP Remote Workstation Card, the BIOS is not visible remotely and when it is, can't be controlled.

Cause

In order to access the BIOS when using a PCoIP Remote Workstation Card, the USB function must be enumerated by the BIOS at boot time. Please check motherboard or system vendor whether this capability is available.

On supported motherboards and systems, there should be an option to enable or disable BIOS access for PCoIP Remote Workstation Cards (or Host Cards) when connecting to the PCoIP Remote Workstation Card using a PCoIP Zero Client. The PCoIP Software Client is not supported when attempting to access the BIOS as the host software has not started.

Resolution

Some OEM's such as Dell, HP and Fujitsu have certain workstations with the required BIOS changes to allow for control of the BIOS. Contact your OEM for details.

If you cannot see the BIOS on boot, ensure monitor emulator What is monitor emulation on the PCoIP Remote Workstation Card and how does it work? is enabled and change all 'fast boot' settings in the BIOS off to allow as much time as possible to connect to the PCoIP Remote Workstation Card after power on.
