Introducing Cloud Licensing Models

HP Anyware supports two licensing models:

  • Cloud Licensing Model : This licensing model can be used if your PCoIP agent has access to the internet. There is no overhead of deploying your own license server, this model is simple and faster to implement. The advanced features mentioned below are not available with this model.
  • Local License Server : With this model, you will need to deploy your own license server and it is more complex than the Cloud Licensing Model. The deployment of license server will take few minutes, but once deployed, you will be able to use the advanced features mentioned below. You will have a greater control over how your licenses are deployed

With HP Anyware, you can choose to put all your licenses into a single cloud based pool (Cloud Licensing) or if you need more additional pools, or control, you can deploy your very own Local License Servers. Use Cloud Licensing if you do not want the overhead of deploying or managing Local License Servers. You will need to use a Local License Servers if your use case includes one or more of these advanced features:

  • hosts do not have access to the internet
  • need to use an offline (dark site) activation process
  • need to divide your pool of licenses into multiple pools aimed at different users

The table below compares the features of both licensing models
