The num lock ( numlock) setting depends on whether the PCoIP Zero Client is at the On-Screen-Display (OSD) or when in-session.

On-Screen-Display operation

The "Factory" default setting of num lock can be set by the PCoIP Zero Client OEM during manfacturing.  Typically the factory default setting of num lock is disabled or off.

The default setting of num lock for the OSD can be changed by turning num lock on while in the OSD and then making a successful PCoIP connection.  This will save the new setting as the default for num lock in the OSD. If the PCoIP Zero Client is rebooted the new default setting for num lock will be used.

For example:

  • To set num lock default to enabled when in the OSD, toggle the num lock key to enable num lock in the OSD and then make a successful PCoIP connection.
  • The default setting can be set to disabled again by toggling num lock key to disabled in the OSD and then make a successful PCoIP connection.

In-Session Num Lock operation

When connecting to a PCoIP session, the num lock ( numlock) setting will be set to match the current virtual destkop (or remote workstation) num lock setting. Ensure the state of the num lock function is appropriate prior to ending a virtual desktop connection and that it has not accidentally been changed.

For example:

  • The num lock is enabled on the virtual desktop (or remote workstation), then upon session connection num lock will be enabled.
  • The num lock is disabled on the virtual desktop (or remote workstation), then upon session connection num lock will be disabled.
