The PCoIP protocol determines the bandwidth limit by examining network conditions such as received bandwidth, latency, and packet loss. The PCoIP protocol adapts to provide the best user experience for the available bandwidth.

When congestion is encountered, PCoIP protocol uses a cubic algorithm similar to TCP protocol.  However, it is tuned for operation in a virtual desktop environment with dynamic image quality.
