How does PCoIP share bandwidth over the network?

The BW Limit is dynamically calculated and represents the bandwidth the PCoIP session estimates to be available given the network conditions. The calculation takes into account the existing bandwidth usage, packet loss and any high latency spikes. The allows PCoIP to adjust just like TCP would for given network conditions but, crucially it allows PCoIP to retain control over data re-transmission and other network transmission requirements necessary for a real time protocol. If there are no latency spikes or packet loss the bw limit will trend upwards as the user interacts with the session. You can set the maximum bw limit for the PCoIP session by modifying the GPO for maximum bandwidth. You can also set the minimum bandwidth using the floor but this setting should be very cautiously used.

PCoIP technology is aware of network congestion via packet loss and delay variation.

When the network is congested, the PCoIP imaging algorithm reduces image quality, frame rate, and associated bandwidth usage, and later increases them to take advantage of the available bandwidth when the network is not congested.
