1) Identify the certificates used for IEEE 802.1x network authentication in your organization

2) Ensure that the certificates are properly formatted

  • Certificates must be in .PEM format and less than 6 KB

  • Both a client certificate and a server root CA certificate are required to be uploaded
  • 802.1x client certificate must also include a private key that uses RSA encryption
  • 802.1x server CA root certificate

3) Convert to .PEM if necessary

5) Enable network authentication in the zero client and/or host card

  1. Log into the Administrative Web Interface (AWI)
  2. Navigate to the Configuration tab and select Network
  3. Check Enable 802.1x Security box
  4. Authentication is TLS for firmware 4.0.0 and newer
  5. Enter the identity string for the PCoIP Zero Client or PCoIP Remote Workstation Card in the Identity field
  6. Click Choose on the Client Certificate field and select the 802.1x client certificate from the list of certificates uploaded to the PCoIP Zero Client or PCoIP Remote Workstation Card. Note the client certificate includes the private key.
  7. Click Apply
