Scenario

A Philips Digital Pocket Memo (DPM) device does not operate after connecting to a PCoIP Zero Client using the USB EHCI controller (USB 2.0). Occasionally the PCoIP Zero Client unexpectedly restarts.

Cause

The Philips Digital Pocket Memo device (VID/PID = 0911/1F40) is not currently supported on the PCoIP Zero Client using the USB EHCI controller (USB 2.0).

Workaround

There are two workarounds for this scenario:

  1. Attach the DPM to the PCoIP Zero Client behind an external USB 1.1 (OHCI) hub.
Note: Only the devices attached to this hub will be forced to use OHCI (USB 1.1) mode.

  2. Disable the EHCI controller via the PCoIP Zero Client Administrative Web Interface (AWI).
Note: All devices attached to PCoIP Zero Client will use OHCI (USB 1.1) mode.

Workaround Considerations

Reduction of transfer speeds of USB 2.0 (or newer) devices that are using the OHCI controller (USB 1.1).
