Connection Manager and Security Gateway

24.03

Current supported release General Support

Release 24.03 of the PCoIP Connection Manager and PCoIP Security Gateway includes the following:

PCoIP Security Gateway Failover

Multiple PCoIP Security Gateways can be deployed to handle automatic failover. When multiple gateways are deployed, if the gateway being used by a PCoIP session becomes unavailable, the session is automatically transferred to the next available gateway. To use this feature, configure the Connection Manager using the --external-sg-ip flag with the addresses of the failover security brokers. Only IP addresses are supported; adding gateways by FQDN will be supported in a future release.

VMware Broker to manage PCoIP Connections Beta

The Connection Manager and Security Gateway use the VMware Broker to establish the PCoIP connection with the remote workstations in this release. This capability is only available for use with the Anyware Graphics Agent. To use this feature, configure --broker-url with the address of the VMware broker, and --enable-horizon.

Known Issue:  The user may intermittently be presented with the lock screen upon session establishment.

Workaround: Press ctrl+alt+del and Sign-out from the operating system. (Do not disconnect the connection).

Known Issue: Anyware Standard Agent may crash if the VMware Broker Agent is installed alongside it.

VMware Broker to manage PCoIP Connections

23.04

General Support

At HP Inc., our constant endeavour is to enhance our products to best suit your business needs. With a primary focus on quality, we have released 23.04 with the following updates/fixes:

Federated Authentication with Single Sign-On

Single Sign-On can be used to authenticate users when logging in to the PCoIP Client using a third-party identity provider.  In this release, this capability is available for production use. You can use the following flags when configuring the Connection Manager and Security Gateway:

  • --fa-url
  • --enable-sso
  • --sso-signing-csr-ca
  • --sso-signing-csr-key
  • --sso-signing-crl
  • --sso-enrollment-url
  • --sso-enrollment-domain
  • --sso-enrollment-username
  • --sso-enrollment-password
  • --sso-enrollment-certificate-template-name

Security Gateway Bug

The Security Gateway encounters an error handling some connections resulting in the system failing and terminating all active sessions. This bug is fixed in this release.

Other bugs and vulnerability fixes

Some minor bugs and security vulnerabilities related to the Connection Manager and Security Gateway are fixed in this release.

23.01

Technical Guidance

At HP Inc., our constant endeavour is to enhance our products to best suit your business needs. With a primary focus on quality, we have released 23.01 with the following updates/fixes:

Federated User Authentication

In Federated Authentication, the user is presented with their configured IDP login in the PCoIP client. Once the user logs in with their IDP credentials, they need to log in once more at the desktop of the Workstation with their domain/network credentials. This capability requires a compatible third-party broker, a configuration of the CMSG, and PCoIP Clients at release 23.01 or higher.

Single Sign-On for Federated Authentication

Beta support for single sign-on for federated authentication. This capability requires users to only authenticate once with their IDP credentials at the PCoIP client and allows users to seamlessly login to the desktop of the Workstation. This feature requires the configuration of a third-party broker that supports federated user authentication, a configuration of the CMSG, PCoIP Clients at release 23.01 or higher, and Windows PCoIP Agents at release 23.01 or higher.

Updated Software License Terms

Updated the software use license terms; by installing and using these updates you agree and accept the new license terms. For more information, see HP Anyware End User License Agreement.

22.09.4

22.09

Technical Guidance

This release introduces the following new features:

  • Federated Authentication Support [TECHNOLOGY PREVIEW]: This release introduces preview support for Federated Authentication, which enables use of a custom Identity Provider to authenticate users prior to displaying their list of desktops. Users must still authenticate separately for their remote desktop connection. For technology preview instructions, see Federated User Authentication.
