What are the requirements for USB 2.0 (EHCI) support on PCoIP Zero Clients?

Answer:

EHCI (Enhanced Host Controller Interface) is a high-speed controller standard that is publicly documented and provides high speed USB functionality.

Tera2 based PCoIP Clients support USB 2.0 (EHCI) out of the box on all firmware releases.

The requirements for USB 2.0 (EHCI) support on TERA1100-based PCoIP Zero Clients include:

  • PCoIP Zero client firmware 3.5.0 or newer
  • Virtual desktop running VMware View 4.6 Agent or newer
  • PCoIP zero client with 128MB/1Gbit of memory

Notes:

  • Isochronous USB 2.0 video devices will continue operation in USB 1.1 mode when connected directly to a PCoIP Zero Client root port
  • Isochronous USB 2.0 video devices connected through an internal/external USB hub are not supported and may see the following error message; USB device not supported behind a high-speed hub.
  • Optimal transfer speeds are achieved on connections that have minimal latency
