Out of the box, the PCoIP Zero Client or PCoIP Remote Workstation Card is configured to its factory default settings. By default, the PCoIP device is in DHCP mode. Because it is in DHCP mode, when it is first connected to a network, it tries to obtain a DHCP lease from a DHCP server. If the PCoIP Device does not receive a valid DHCP response from a DHCP server on the network, it will fail into fallback mode. When in fallback mode, the PCoIP device will use the following network configuration:

  • Fallback IP address (Remote Workstation Card): 192.168.1.100
  • Fallback IP address (Zero Client): 192.168.1.50
  • Fallback subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
  • Fallback gateway: 192.168.1.1

Note: The fallback IP addresses listed above apply to a majority of the PCoIP Zero Client and PCoIP Remote Workstation Card devices. Some devices have been factory configured with a different IP Address. Refer to the documentation for PCoIP Zero Client or PCoIP Remote Workstation Card for details.

When there are multiple PCoIP Zero Clients or PCoIP Remote Workstations cards on the same network, they may all have the same fallback IP address after a network outage and the DHCP server is not available. Restart the devices or disconnect they physical network cable and reconnect to get the PCoIP device to start the DHCP requests.

The Administrative Web Interface is available via the fallback IP address when there is no DHCP server. A Static IP address can be configured when in fallback mode.

When a PCoIP Zero Client network interface is directly connected to the PCoIP Remote Workstation card with no switch between the devices, you can connect and establish a connection to the PCoIP Remote Workstation Card using the fallback address.
